EnglishWing ("we", "us", or "our") operates the NewSay Live mobile application (the "App"). We believe your data belongs to you, just like a Phantom Thief protects their secrets. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you embark on your multi-language immersion journey.
1. Information We Collect
No Accounts & Anonymous Usage
NewSay Live is completely frictionless. We do not require you to create an account, log in, or provide a password. You play completely anonymously. We do not collect your name, personal email address, or social media profiles.
Freemium & Subscription Information
NewSay Live operates on an ad-free freemium model:
- Free Tier: You can explore the App entirely free of charge with limited feature access. We do not serve ads, and we do not track you for advertising purposes.
- Premium Tier: Paid monthly or yearly subscriptions are processed securely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). We receive anonymous transaction identifiers and subscription status from RevenueCat to manage your premium access. We do not collect or store your payment card details. Your purchase is tied strictly to your device's app store ID.
Audio & AI Processing
Your privacy is our priority during language practice:
- On-Device Processing: For core lessons, text-to-speech (TTS) and speech-to-text (STT) parsing using your microphone are processed entirely on your device. No audio recordings are ever sent to our servers.
- AI Pet Tutor: When interacting with our dynamic AI Pet Tutor, anonymized text transcripts of your conversation prompts are transmitted to our trusted third-party AI partners (Google Gemini and OpenAI GPT) to generate contextual responses. Audio is never sent to these APIs.
Usage & Progress Data
We track your Main Quest progress, selected languages, Side Quest stats, and your Pet's status. Basic learning data is stored locally on your device. However, critical anonymous data—such as subscription validation and AI chat histories—is synced to our secure MongoDB servers to maintain the memory of your AI conversations across sessions using an anonymous identifier.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To animate and provide the NewSay Live immersive experience.
- To manage your premium status and unlock language/city access.
- To generate dynamic, contextual roleplay conversations using AI APIs based on your learning history.
3. Data Storage and Security
Server-side data (like AI chat logs) is stored on highly secure servers (MongoDB Atlas) utilizing encryption in transit and at rest. Because we do not use user accounts, this data is tied only to a random, anonymous identifier generated. We implement industry-standard security measures—impenetrable Palaces—to protect this anonymous information.
4. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
- RevenueCat - for anonymous subscription management
- Apple App Store / Google Play Store - for secure payment processing
- Google Gemini & OpenAI - for processing AI Pet Tutor dialogue text
5. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13, nor do we knowingly collect personal information from them. Because the App does not require account creation, no personal identifying information is collected from any user by default.
6. Your Rights & Data Retention
You have full control over your Calling Card. Since all core learning data is stored locally on your device, you can permanently delete all your progress by simply uninstalling the App or clearing the App's data in your device settings.
Server-side AI chat histories tied to your anonymous identifier are routinely purged if the app is inactive for an extended period. You may manage or cancel your premium subscription at any time directly through your device's App Store settings.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as we expand to new languages, cities, and features. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date at the top.
